The Office of Science is currently peer-reviewing about 1750 full proposals submitted to its Early Career Research Program.  Award announcements are expected early in the calendar year of 2010.

The proposal submission deadline for the Office of Science Early Career Research Program was September 1, 2009. Proposals are no longer being accepted. All proposals are currently under review within our program offices. Please check this space for logistical updates, and be advised that our program managers cannot discuss specific pending proposals. The Department of Energy has received more than 2200 letters of intent for the Office of Science Early Career Research Program.

The Office of Science of the Department of Energy has a new Recovery Act funding opportunity for early career researchers in universities and DOE national laboratories. This program will support the development of individual research programs of outstanding scientists early in their careers and stimulate research careers in the disciplines supported by the DOE Office of Science. Opportunities exist in the following program areas: Advanced Scientific Computing Research (ASCR); Biological and Environmental Research (BER); Basic Energy Sciences (BES), Fusion Energy Sciences (FES); High Energy Physics (HEP), and Nuclear Physics (NP). Letters of intent are due August 3, 2009 and full proposals are due September 1, 2009.
